Description
Whether black, white or green, these peppers all come from the same plant. When pepper is green it involves the early harvested fruit, which are inserted or freeze-dried in salt water. This method prevents the pepper from turning black coloring. Since the spicy alkaloid piperine accumulates with increasing maturity, the green fruit that are harvested early are milder than the black peppercorns.
The taste is also perceived as fresh and spicy. Therefore, the green pepper is also known for its fine, mild flavor. In addition to use for pepper steak and for different gravies and it is ideal for use in salads. This pepper even adds a spicy note to cold Mediterranean dishes such as tomatoes with mozzarella and basil.
