Does the smell of freshly baked bread inevitably make your mouth water? Just imagine a big slice of brown bread with a little butter, fresh from the oven! We all know baked goods taste best when they're homemade, and this mix is made using only the best organic ingredients from Austria. It does not contain artificial flavours, colours, preservatives or palm oil. And the icing on the cake is that you baked the delicious organic natural sourdough bread yourself! Believe us, with this ingenious Bake Affair baking mix you too will become a bread baker!

For a small loaf of brown farmer's bread (500 g) you need:

  • 1 baking mix
  • 210 ml of water

Resting time for the dough: a total of 105 - 120 minutes

Baking time: approx. 10 min at 230 ° C + approx. 20 min at 190 ° C (both top and bottom heat)

Instructions:

  1. Open the freshness seal on the baking mix and pour the contents into a large bowl. Fill the can to the water line (210 ml) with lukewarm water and carefully pour it over the baking mixture. Knead the dough by hand or with a mixer for 3 minutes.
  2. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise for approx. 45 - 60 minutes in a warm place (approx. 24 ° C).
  3. Flour the work surface and, if you have one, your proving basket.
  4. Place the dough on the work surface. Using a dough scraper, fold it in from the edges towards the center and shape it into a round ball. Place the ball of dough with the seam side down in the proofing basket or on a baking paper-lined baking sheet.
  5. Dust the dough with a little flour and cover it again for about 60 minutes.
  6. While the dough is rising, you can preheat the oven to 230 ° C (electric).
  7. Place the dough on your baking sheet or on a baking stone. With a sharp knife, score the dough deep enough so that the steam can escape while baking. Of course, you can also use these cuts to carve a beautiful pattern into your bread.
  8. Bake the bread for 10 minutes at 230 ° C. Then reduce the heat to 190 ° C and bake the bread for another 20 minutes. If the bottom of your bread turns brown, it's done!
  9. Take out of the oven, let cool on a wire rack and enjoy!
