The history of Karala mountain pepper

The mountain pepper comes from the southern Indian Malabar Coast in Kerala. It is special because it does not originate from the large plantations in the lowlands, but is grown in the remote and very sparsely populated mountain regions of Kerala, which are still largely covered by the original rainforest.

After harvesting, the highland pepper is sun-dried, cleaned and sorted. Free from pesticides, chemical preservatives or gases, it is shipped directly to Germany after drying.

Tastes exquisite with beef, venison, dark soups and sauces, lettuce and tomatoes.
