Pimenton de la Vera Doux is the world famous, unique specialty from the La Vera valley in the Spanish region of Extremadura. The microclimate in the valley has made the area very fruitful.

In early March, the Pimenton-seeds are sown in greenhouses. In May, the seedlings are planted in the open on the vast terrace fields. Here the plants get plenty of sunshine. The harvest takes place in October still traditionally done by hand. The peppers are collected immediately after harvest and are smoked over oak wood and dried. Finally, the smoked peppers are ground in mills to a red, fine powder. The seeds and stems of the peppers are not processed. The grinding process is repeated up to five times, in order to achieve the high degree of fineness.

The protected designation of origin "Denominación de Origen Pimentón de la Vera" vouches for the high quality.

The intense red Pimenton de la Vera Doux offers the mild, stimulating bittersweet and smoky flavor. Deep and very harmonious in all its nuances.

Pimenton de la Vera Doux represents the smoky enjoyment of meat, fish, poultry, rice and stews. Tip:
Paprika needs fat in order to develop its typical taste and full color! Mix liberally with not-too hot fat. Then add a little vinegar or lemon juice.
