Description

The deep red kidney bean is one of the most popular legumes worldwide. Despite the firm bite, it has a creamy consistency and can be added to salads, stews and many varieties of chilli con carne. It can also be made into crispy patties or spreads.

Tip: Thanks to its texture and mildly sweet taste, the kidney bean is also suitable for desserts, for example in brownie recipes or as a paste in Asian sesame balls.

Preparation: As a side dish for two people, soak 100 g of beans in plenty of water for at least 12 hours. Cook the drained beans in fresh water for 60 to 90 minutes. Do not add salt until the end of the cooking time!
