These unique peppercorns are elaborately harvested by hand from a special climbing pepper plant. This plant is found only in the jungle of Madagascar. Since the harvest is very difficult and one kilogram of fresh berries yields only one kilogram of dried berries, the annual yield is only 1.5 tons.
A high content of essential oils gives this pepper an intense and complex aroma. Flavours ranging from flowery to woody and earthy make this pepper a unique pleasure, especially when combined with sweets.
