Frantoi Cutrera Extra Virgin Olive Oil 'Frescolio'

The first harvest of the new season is always something special. This holds true for both wine and olive oil.

The Moresca and Biancolilla olives used to make Frantoi Cutrera's Frescolio extra virgin olive oil grow in southern Sicily. The olive oil is carefully pressed within 24 hours after the harvest in a purely mechanical process. Due to the rapid processing, the unfiltered oil does not oxidise and retains its intense green colour and aroma. The pleasant fruity spiciness and bitter notes in this full-bodied oil are balanced by fresh notes of herbs and artichoke.

You can add Frescolio to classic Mediterranean dishes or drizzle over grilled vegetables and meat, salads and raw vegetables.

Tip: The olive oil comes with a bruschetta-salt mixture that you can use to whip up quick and flavourful appetisers - simply drizzle some Frescolio olive oil on freshly toasted bread and sprinkle the mix of oregano and Sicilian salt on top. Simply delicious!
