HiPP Infant Formula Based on Cow's Milk - Anti-Reflux Special Formula, 600 g

Spitting up a little and burping after meals is considered normal in babies, and is neither unusual nor worrying. However, if it happens very frequently or in large amounts, your baby feels very uncomfortable after feeding or seems to be in pain, you should switch to a special infant formula after consultation with your paediatrician.

HiPP Infant Formula Based on Cow's Milk - Anti-Reflux Special Formula contains locust bean gum, a natural fibre that makes it particularly creamy. This helps keep the food down in the stomach and reduces the flow back into the oesophagus (reflux).

Important information on Anti Reflux Special Formula:

• Experts agree that breastfeeding is best for your baby during the first six months of life. Therefore, always talk to a medical professional (hospital, paediatrician, midwife or lactation consultant) if you want to switch to bottle-feeding or to special infant formulas.
• This special infant formula should only be used after medical consultation and under medical supervision.
• HiPP Anti Reflux Special Formula can be given in case of problems with excessive spitting up from birth onwards. It can also be part of a varied weaning diet after 6 months of age.
• HiPP Anti Reflux Special Formula is not suitable for babies prone to allergies or those with an existing or suspected allergy to cow's milk protein.
• Switching to this product may cause softer stools because of the locust bean gum it contains.
• The symptoms of reflux and side effects of the change in diet should normally subside within a few days. If there is no improvement, please consult your paediatrician again.
• To be fed orally only. Not suitable for parenteral use.

Dosage: Please follow the mixing ratio recommended by the manufacturer in the chart below. However, the amount your baby drinks per meal is only a guideline, which may vary from child to child. Don't force your baby to empty the bottle!
Always use the measuring scoop enclosed in the pack to measure out the powder (1 measuring scoop = ca. 4.3 g HiPP Anti Reflux Special Formula powder per 30 ml water).

** From this age onwards, you may introduce complementary foods to your baby's diet after consultation with your paediatrician and gradually reduce the number of bottle feeds per day.

Preparation:

1. Boil fresh drinking water and measure the required amount according to the chart and pour it into a bottle.
2. Let it cool down to 40 - 50 °C (tip: If you don't have a thermometer, check the temperature with your hand: if you can just about hold the bottle in your hand, the temperature is correct).
   The right water temperature is important - the water needs to be warm enough for the powder to dissolve well but not so hot that the valuable natural lactic acid cultures (lactobacilli) get destroyed.
3. Measure the required amount of powder with the measuring scoop provided - take the correct amount for your baby's age. Fill the scoop loosely and scrape off any excess on the straight edge of the pack or with the back of a knife.
4. Add the powder to the water in the bottle, close tightly and shake well.
5. HiPP Anti Reflux Special Formula must be left to stand for 7 minutes to thicken after preparation. Then shake vigorously again and make sure that it is at a comfortable feeding temperature (approx. 37°C) before you feed your baby.
