Description
Myrtle comes from an evergreen shrub that is native to the Mediterranean. The herb is most often used to prepare meat and produce liqueurs. In Sardinia the Mirto Rosso and the Mirto Bianco liquors are traditionally made with myrtle spice. The Mirto Rosso is a sweet liqueur for which the berries of the shrub are used. The Mirto Bianco is a dry liqueur for which the leaves and flowers are used.
