Mill & Mortar Organic "Brunkager" Cookie Spice

The word "BRUNKAGER" translated word for word means the "Scent of Christmas" and conjures up bringing Christmassy cheer into your home! Delicious ingredients like cinnamon, ginger, allspice and cloves provide a lovely scented, lovely tasting spice blend that reminds one of Christmas time.

Brunkager Cookie Recipe:

• 250 g butter
• 125 g light syrup
• 250 g brown sugar
• 2 teaspoons potassium carbonate
• 1 tablespoon BRUNKAGE Cookie Spice
• 60 g pickled oranges
• 25 g unsalted pistachios
• 150 g whole peeled almonds
• 500 g flour

Instructions:

• Melt the butter, syrup and brown sugar in a pan on medium heat. Once melted, take the pan off the heat. In a large bowl, mix the spices and flour, then toss in the oranges, almonds and pistachios.
• Stir the potassium carbonate and water together in a small bowl and add it to the flour mixture. Knead together to make a uniform dough. Transfer the mass to a large frying pan and press it down. Allow it to stand for a day at room temperature. The following day, cut the mix into blocks and then slice them thin. Place the slices on baking paper and into a preheated oven at 180 degrees for approx. 10 minutes. Cool your treats on a cooling rack. Serve as tea cakes.
