The nutmeg is not really a nut but a berry. The nutmeg tree is native to the Indonesian Banda Islands but now it is grown in other areas on plantations. This organic nutmeg comes from southwest India in Kerala.
The best way to develop the wonderful aroma of nutmeg is to grate it fresh over your meals. Add after cooking for the best flavours. Nutmeg is great for seasoning sauces and goes well with egg dishes and vegetables like kohlrabi, cheese and pastries.
