Weingut Günter u. Regina Triebaumer Ried PLACHEN Blaufränkisch 2020

This single-vineyard red wine is the new flagship of the Günter + Regina Triebaumer winery in Rust. Blaufränkisch is also one of the winery's finest strengths so it comes as no surprise that the wine was awarded 5 stars and gold by Vinaria. An additional 95 points from Falstaff and AlaCarte echo the same findings.

After maturing for 2 years in 300 L oak barrels (with approx. 30% new barrels), the long journey of this fleshy, spicy red wine now begins. Cherries, black tea, cinnamon and fine wood flavours already delight the nose. Lot of pressure on the palate. Dry, dense, with a persistent dominance of fruit. Vibrates strikingly and pleasantly dominant into the immensely long, warm finish. It has excellent ageing potential for at least 10-15 years.

Pairs well with duck and game. Excellent on its own too.
