Description
A unique flavour: enjoy a stunning pop of very intense citrus notes with these peppercorns. The Andaliman pepper stimulates salivation, giving your food a more intense flavour. Use the extravagant spice with fish, seafood and poultry. It is also often cooked in curries, salsas or stews.
Tips:
- Use a mortar or a mill to crush or grind the peppercorns.
The Andaliman pepper grows in the wild in the north of the Indonesian island of Sumatra. The plant is very rare and cannot be cultivated. The flavour is somewhat reminiscent of Szechuan pepper with a hint cubeb. The fruits are harvested by hand in the jungle and are dried in the sun in reed baskets.
