Allspice
Pimenta dioica
Use:
Allspice is used as a seed, dried, whole or ground. Allspice berries are ideal for seasoning hearty dishes such as beef and game, cabbage dishes, liver dumplings and sauerkraut.
Occurrence:
The allspice tree is native to Central America and is still cultivated in the West Indies, but is especially common in Jamaica.
