Description

The organic green jungle pepper comes exclusively from a South-Indian tiger reserve. It is referred to as the champagne of peppers. In addition, the pepper is sorted only in purely natural barrels after the harvest year. Thus, the taste and purity of the pepper is preserved.

The organic green jungle pepper is obtained from immature, early harvested fruit. It is then heated briefly in water and finally placed in a brine or coconut vinegar so that it retains its green color. is The mild spiciness is a characteristic of the green pepper, although it is one of the most aromatic peppers.

It is less spicy than the Organic Black Jungle Pepper or the Organic White Jungle Pepper, which is ultimately the spiciest of the three. In the kitchen you can use the green pepper for sauces and soups, as well as for seasoning food. It has a mild taste that will not dominate your dishes.

Origins of the Organic Green Jungle Pepper
Periyar National Park is located in the Indian state of Kerala. The park covers an area of over 350 square kilometers and is home to a diverse tropical jungle. Among other plants and animals, endangered Bengal tigers and wild elephants are protected there. "Project Tiger" was founded in 1973 in India to protect the Bengal tiger in its natural environment. Ecotourism is popular there and takes the well being of the wildlife into strict consideration.

The resident tribal indigenous communities operate under completely traditional methods. This means that they live in harmony with their environment and pick the pepper only under the best environmental conditions. Thus, the harvests are not particularly extensive, but the jungle is protected and the quality of pepper is reflected in its unique flavor. The pepper is also used in Ayurvedic medicine due to its purity.

The members of the tribal communities live in the western area of the national park, which may be entered only through special permission. As part of an aid project, sustainable development is also part of the lives of the residents of this region. This aid project works closely with the National Park Service of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. Through fair trade with local tribal communities, the proceeds are used in the construction of kindergartens, schools and hospitals. The tribal communities are guaranteed up to 50% of the commercial market price.
