Rye has a strong flavor that is slightly sour and spicy. Rye also has the highest content of sodium and potassium found in grains. It is rich in fiber, low in calories and has a warming effect.

Preparation: Soak for 3-10 hours in cold water, boil for about 45 minutes and then steam for 30 minutes.
