Description
Christmas Stollen is a traditional cake served at Christmas in most Austrian homes. Bake your own delicious stollen at home quickly and easily with this baking mix by Bake Affair. You will need just two additional ingredients to prepare it. The mix does not contain palm oil, added colours or preservatives and all ingredients are non-GMO.
Additional ingredients needed:
- 70 g curd cheese known as Topfen in Austria (20% fat)
- 80 g butter
How to prepare:
- Open the pack and place the sachet of icing sugar aside. Place the contents of the baking mix in a large bowl or the mixing bowl of your Thermomix.
- Add 40 g butter and 70 g curd cheese to the bowl. Knead by hand or with a food processor for about 4 minutes to form a dough.
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat)
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 20 x 15 cm). Next - shape your stollen - pick up the top edge and fold it over until it almost touches the bottom edge but not quite. Use your fingertips to form a ridge with the top edge that is folded over.
- Bake it for 30 - 35 minutes.
- Melt the remaining 40 g of butter and brush it over your baked, still-hot stollen.
- Finally, dust the stollen with the icing sugar with the help of a sieve. Your homemade Christmas stollen is ready! One pack of baking mix yields around 500 g stollen.
