Snacks That Are Healthy: Nerve Strengthening Nuts

We all like to snack, especially once the sun has sunk and we're at home enjoying our evening entertainment. Whether sitting down for a board game or watching TV or a movie, healthy snacking is part of enjoying life! A healthy bowl full of nuts helps us enjoy snacking responsibly!

Walnuts, hazelnuts, peanuts, macadamia nuts, almonds , pine nuts, sunflower seeds, pecans or toasted pumpkin seeds are small, crunchy powerhouses that provide us with many valuable healthy substances. Nuts may not even make you fat! Seeds and nuts contain concentrated energy and therefore a lot of calories, but a handful of nuts is still a healthy snack. Recent studies show that one should still eat nuts even if they are trying to lose weight.

Nuts are so delicious and healthy, why?

If our blood sugar level remains high, our cravings for food can come back. Nuts help to preserve our nerves and help us keep a cool head, they strengthen the immune system and our ability to concentrate, support the liver and pancreas, help us detox, protect against heart attack and stroke, support the cornea of our eyes, reduce the risk of diabetes, trick the common free radicals, fill us with fiber and make the skin supple. Above all, their high content of vitamin B and magnesium provide the body with proper nerve food.

Nuts are healthy, but also delicious, not only for squirrels and birds. Nibbling unsalted nuts is healthier than eating salted nuts. Just be careful if you have an allergy!
