Panettone is a classic Italian cake that is known all over the world for being delicious! The sourdough cake with a classic, high dome shape is especially popular during the holidays.
In 1922, Monsù Ferrua had the idea to give the classic cake a new shape. He developed a low panettone pan that he even gifted to the royal family. This specialty is still made in Galup's shop today!
The star of this cake is clearly the Piedmont hazelnuts (PGI) that are known for being the best hazelnuts in the world. The cake is sprinkled with flavourful nuts and also has a good amount of ground hazelnuts in the dough.
