Marques de Tomares S.L. Rioja Crianza DOCa 2019, 0,75 l

A Rioja Crianza is an excellent bang for your buck especially when it comes to a fine wine you'd like to enjoy right away.

2019 is considered a very structured vintage with great potential for ageing. Although the yields were slightly lower than in the previous year, the grape itself was excellent and the stable weather conditions during the harvest ensured optimal conditions. Some even suspect it might be a memorable vintage - certainly something to keep an eye on.

Very dark colour and nearly opaque in the glass. Lots of blackberry, leather and cherry on the nose, a hint of plums and beautifully infused wood. Very typical Tempranillo aroma.

The wine is still quite young but has wonderful fruity accents on the palate with lots of berries, a vibrant acidity and a fruity sweetness. It is very elegant and balanced.

The wine would benefit from spending an hour in a decanter - it will show its true colours then.
