Description

Wheat flour polarizes: while some appreciate it for its mild taste and its versatile use for baked goods, health-conscious bakers criticize the comparatively low mineral content in the flour. The organic whole grain wheat flour provides advantages for both camps:

  • Like all whole grain flours, whole grain wheat flour also contains all the components of the grain, including the valuable germ and bran (the outer layer of the grain). It is rich in fibre and minerals like calcium, magnesium and fluoride as well as B vitamins. Wheat flour even contains iodine.
  • Compared to other whole grain flours, wheat flour is lighter and has a milder taste. This makes it easier to get started with whole grain cooking, as the colour, consistency and taste of the baked goods are similar to those of conventional white flour products.
  • Whole grain wheat flour is suitable for all types of doughs, like bread and pastry dough, pizza, pasta, cakes, etc.

Note: Whole grain wheat flour requires more liquid to swell than regular wheat flour. So you should use 10-15% more liquid than stated in your recipes.
