Amaranth flour has a nutty, slightly bitter taste and can be used in many ways. It was widely used by the original inhabitants of the pre-Columbian Americas. Gluten-free amaranth flour is high in protein and fibre as well as minerals such as iron, magnesium and calcium - therefore much appreciated by physically active people and athletes.

The delicate taste of the flour is excellent for baking but it needs to be mixed with flour(s) containing gluten such as wheat, rye or spelt flour. Even by adding only a small amount of amaranth flour to your regular dough or batter, you will benefit enormously from the additional nutrients.
