Chickpeas easily absorb flavours from spices, which make them very versatile! Like all legumes, they are rich in protein and are great for vegetarian or vegan dishes. They can also be roasted like nuts for a crunchy snack. Falafel is made from spiced chickpea meal, and hummus is made from ground chickpeas. They are also great in salads or curries as well as dal dishes.
