Barbecue Tips: Get a Good Start to the Barbecue Season!
Grill season is upon us, whether you prefer to cook with gas, charcoal or electricity. No matter how you like to grill, impress your family, friends and neighbors with these tips to make your barbecue season unforgettable!
Although there is much discussion to as what kind of grill is the best, more important are these tips:
Never place chilled meat directly on the grill. Allow meat taken out of the refrigerator to warm to room temperature, otherwise it will be slightly tough.
If you put meat on the grill, the grill should be pretty hot, so that the spices better develop their flavors.
Professionals always spice their meat BEFORE grilling, never afterwards. There are many spice blends on the market, leading to a unique taste experience!
How do you marinate? Do not over-use oil, as this can burn the meat and cause it to dry out.
Perhaps consider avoiding aluminium foil packages. There are better materials available for grilling.
More tips for a successful barbecue experience:
If you grill poultry, try smoked spices to achieve sensational new flavors. Even using different salts can work very well.
This is also true for all types of meat, particularly for steaks (PLEASE never pierce the steak, otherwise you'll lose all the juice).
Whether pork, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb or seafood and vegetables: a (rock) salt plate always looks nice and makes for a great eyecatcher.
If you like cheese, try grilling sheep's cheese, cottage cheese, or the popular halloumi, or try vegetables such as eggplant, peppers or zucchini
